Knuckles is the current Guardian<\/strong> of Angel Island<\/strong>. His destiny was set in motion before his birth when his father, Locke the Echidna<\/strong>, doused his egg with Chaos Energy<\/strong> in the hopes that he could give Knuckles the power to avert a disastrous vision of the future.\u00a0Knuckles was born with spiked knuckles and a stronger connection to the Chaos Force<\/strong> than any Guardian before him. <\/span>In keeping with the teachings of the Brotherhood of Guardians<\/strong>, Locke raised his son on the island and then abandoned him before his teen years, giving Knuckles free reign whilst watching him from afar.<\/p>\n Knuckles encountered his mentor Archimedes the Fire Ant<\/strong> and established the team the Chaotix<\/strong>, but constantly fought with Sonic the Hedgehog<\/strong> and Dr. Ivo “Julian” Robotnik<\/strong>. Knuckles faced villains old and new as Enerjak<\/strong> and the Dark Legion<\/strong> returned to menace Angel Island and the Ultimate Annihilator<\/strong> caused the return of Echidnaopolis<\/strong>. He met his soulmate Julie-Su the Echidna<\/strong> and reunited with his mother and people, and in time his father as well. Knuckles and the Chaotix continue to guard the Master Emerald<\/strong> while keeping the Dark Egg Legion<\/strong> at bay.<\/p>\n Knuckles has several physical abilities including incredible physical strength. His spiked fists also allow him to climb walls. Knuckles can glide using his dreadlocks, allowing him near flight. Knuckles’ connection to the Chaos Force also allow him to heal faster than most and concentrate Chaos Energy into a javelin like attack known as Thunder Arrow<\/strong>. Through the use of the Master Emerald or the seven Chaos Emeralds<\/strong>, Knuckles can also transform into Hyper Knuckles<\/strong> which increases his abilities exponentially.<\/p>\n Knuckles is deeply committed to his kind and duties as Guardian in spite of the many pressures involved, and is known for his fiery temper. While formerly a loner with considerations only for Angel Island itself, Knuckles has grown to accept the company of his friends in the Chaotix, his girlfriend Julie-Su, and even the unlikely friend he found in Sonic with whom he happily joins in the fight against Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik<\/strong>. He is reckless and impulsive, often preferring violence as a first resort, and frequently squabbles with his allies.
