Angel Island<\/strong> is a floating paradise that circles Mobius<\/strong> in a set flight path. The island was first established 600 years ago when Echidnaopolis<\/strong> scientists and partners Jordann the Echidna<\/strong> and Kayla-La the Echidna<\/strong> discovered the White Comet<\/strong> was on a collision course with the city’s location in Downunda<\/strong>. The pair proposed a plan to use the energy of twelve Chaos Emeralds<\/strong> to lift the city and many surrounding areas into the air to avoid this devastating fate. With the help of the Fire Ants<\/strong>, Echidnaopolis was spared and the Island has remained airborne to this day. The twelve Chaos Emeralds were later joined together to form one larger emerald known as the Master Emerald<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Originally known as the Floating Island<\/strong>, the island was renamed in honor of Jordann and Kayla-La’s great-grandaughter, Angel-La the Echidna<\/strong>, who’s son Edmund the Echidna<\/strong> would become the Island’s first Guardian<\/strong>. Politically, the Island has had several shake ups over the centuries. Echidnaopolis and the Dingo Regime<\/strong> would vie for control of the Island for generations, both groups being forced from the Island following a nuclear detonation which required 100 years of cleanup by the Brotherhood of Guardians<\/strong>. While many smaller communities exist across the Island, following the relocation of the Island’s Echidna population, the Dingo Regime is now the dominant force on the Island, only kept in check by the last Guardian Knuckles the Echidna<\/strong> and his team the Chaotix<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
