Orphaned at a young age, Ray grew up on the coast where he was looked after by a family friend. Determined to conquer his fears, Ray set out to sea only to be captured by Robotnik Inc.<\/strong> and taken to a Power Gem<\/strong> prison camp. Here he met fellow inmates Mighty the Armadillo<\/strong>, Fiona the Fox<\/strong>, and Sonic the Hedgehog<\/strong>. The group staged a prison break, but Ray found himself corned and grabbed onto a Power Gem. When attacked, the Gem activated and Ray held onto it for dear life. He remained hidden for several hours before Mighty and Fiona found him.<\/p>\n

Ray was dumbstruck however when he learned that while only hours had passed for him, years had passed for everyone else. Not wanting to be alone again, Ray returned with Mighty to Angel Island<\/strong> and joined the Chaotix<\/strong> as a junior member. Ray has accompanied the Chaotix on many adventures and battles with the Eggman Empire<\/strong>. Ray even helped reunite Mighty with his sister Matilda “Tilly” the Armadillo<\/strong>, gaining even more people he can depend on.<\/p>\n

Ray’s abilities are mostly the result of his tail and signature patagium. Ray can Air Glide<\/strong> to the point of near flight thanks to his patagium, an ability he uses to assist Charmy the Bee<\/strong> and Saffron the Bee<\/strong> in the Chaotix’s aerial maneuvers. Ray has a prehensile tail which he can use to grasp objects for both maneuverability and offense. The overall weakest element for Ray is his own skittishness, which holds him back from reaching his full capabilities.<\/p>\n

Ray has a stutter, which seems to in line with his more timid nature. Ray lacks the confidence of his friends, but can be encouraged by them in turn. Ray is closest to Mighty, with the pair considering themselves closer to brothers than friends. Perhaps due to Mighty’s influence, Ray can break from his usual timid demeanor when defending Mighty and his other friends, showing the potential he has inside him. As a junior member of the Chaotix, Ray tries to learn from all of his seniors on how to use his strength and intelligence to overcome any obstacle. Ray is a quick learner, and has the potential to be a hero all his own someday.<\/p>\n
