The Acorn Territories are the collective of forested areas on the southeast corner of Northamer<\/strong>. The region is sometimes known as the Great Valley<\/strong> due to its location south of the Great Mountains<\/strong> which separate the region from the former Overland<\/strong>. The Great Forest<\/strong> extends much of the region, even if it has been significantly diminished following a devastating attack by the Eggman Empire<\/strong>. The smaller Feral Forest<\/strong> lies northwest of the Great Forest, and still hosts smaller communities such as Furville<\/strong>. The environment of the region is well suited for agriculture, with the Southern Baronies<\/strong> being the most prominent example. At the tip of the continent, the Mobian Jungle<\/strong>‘s more tropical climate has allowed for a denser realm of flora, even if it doesn’t extend to the overall size of the Great Forest.<\/p>\n

The Acorn Territories take their name from the Republic of Acorn<\/strong> which controls much of the region, including the Republic’s capital of New Mobotropolis<\/strong>. Despite this however, some areas of the region are largely or entirely independent from the Republic including the Gorilla Army<\/strong> of the Mobian Jungle or the former Leung West<\/strong> colony. The Southern Baronies have also historically attempted independence from the former Kingdom of Acorn<\/strong>, though they have remained part of the Republic to this day. Ownership of the radioactive and enclosed city of Robotropolis<\/strong> is contested with the Eggman Empire, but the Republic has asserted a level of control over the city and its energy fuels the city of New Mobotropolis.<\/p>\n
